Network Rail is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Not all videos have captions. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 (pre-recorded audio content).

We plan to replace these videos with captioned versions by January 2027.

Not all PDFs are accessible. This means they may not meet all four of the WCAG 2.2 Principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust.

We plan to replace these PDFs with accessible versions by January 2027.

Some aspects of the Jargon Buster, specifically issues with some ARIA roles and a minor HTML issue.

This is a third-party plugin, we await these points to be fixed in future updates.
