State of Nature report
What is a State of Nature report?
A State of Nature report provides details about the natural assets managed by a company, or even a country. The report for Britain is a collaboration by over 60 organisations which “uses the latest and best data from biological monitoring and recording schemes(…) to provide a benchmark for the status of our wildlife.”- https://stateofnature.org.uk/
Network Rail has to write a State of Nature report as a result of a recommendation from a Government review in 2018. We publish the extent of habitats on our estate each year and calculate the number of biodiversity units. Our report also provides an opportunity for the business to share the good work that has taken place in the form of case studies
